NEW MAPS. NEW MOMENTS. NEW MOTIVATION!!
Hi there Ladies and Gentlemen. The FixYaFace Inner Beauty/Outer Wellness Blogazine welcomes your wonderful return or first time viewing. For it is our combined positive energy and unique approaches that keep us going towards the goodness in each day. That energy also leads us to rejuvenating patterns that have worked in our favor. Thank you for choosing to share and connect. I hope the at-home "feel great" ideas, interviews of great people like yourselves and ever so simple kind words of encouragement, keep you smiling inside.
As we proceed towards historically new moments, we can actually be grateful for the diverse purposes that we all have been assigned in this lifetime. YOU have the drive. Use the drive. Go for a drive! The word drive mainly pertains to the word forward. A relative once told me and a friend,"A mind that is always looking in the past gets a blurred version of reality." As I maneuver within my perceived road of life, I am flawed and quick to re-focus. Working concepts just like a weather report, can get you confident for the day/drive/expectations ahead. OR that same weather report can us frazzled and then our faith takes over so we can view the map and conditions in remembrance of the destination forward. No matter how short or long the goal may seem, a higher power can take the wheel and drive us to a lower stressed area or at the very least make the ride more tolerable.
YOUR faith and persistence can keep you highly favored if that is all you will accept on your journey! Enjoy all the spontaneous moments that a new turn leads you to. Enjoy the "reduce your speed" warnings that inform you of the necessary adjustments to keep your drive going. Enjoy the "you are almost there" billboards that excites your mind ever so slightly because YOU always knew that you would make it. At that point, if you just want to get out the car of life and unpack your love, strengths and good memories to scream: YAAY WE MADE IT! That's cool too. You'll meet even more people that are going in the same direction/next destination, as you. Congratulations. Have a wonderful Month:)
And it's always pleasure to see you here at FYF:) At some point you have to smile about it. So have fun! Have faith! And FIX YA FACE!
Exercises Of The Month: 1. Create a thought provoking, positive response in any conversation 2. If a effort is going great for you, KEEP GOING! 3. Experience a new book, new hand lotion or new recipe.

As per National Lung And Heart Institutes site,
SEPTEMBER is National Cholesterol Month
Monday September 1, 2008
The New Fruit Of The Month is the Prune. The prune has, but not limited to, Vitamin A (helps prevent viral infections, maintain eyesight health), potassium (helps with waste elimination), chromium (promotes healthy blood sugar levels) and Vitamin C(aims to absorb iron & make healthy tissue). The prune is a great source of antioxidants and low in calories. Take inventory of your unique dietary needs to enhance your healthy methods of maintaining that enjoyable life of yours. Small additions can help to subtract the bigger worries.

is a slick, soothing and subtle party to my rejuvenating regimen. It's a brilliant move towards your inner smile as the scent of cocoa butter and brazilian nut leads the way. I used 3 drops in my evening bath and immediately remembered why I love the offering of warm almond oil. My skin and I felt youthful as well as, yummy at the same time. Vaseline...waaay more than it use to be:) If you try this, feel free to let us know. Please use your own personal discretion /caution if you are allergic, sensitive or unsure.

1. If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? Why? Do you meditate, pray or/and take time to mentally relax? If so what part of the day/how long?
“New” by Amel Larriuex, this songs describes how I am feeling about my life right now. I just recently became engaged and the release of my first issue proves to be a new beginning for me. I do pray throughout the day constantly asking God to guide me and always thanking him for my blessings. I mentally relax in the evenings by reading or just vibing with my fiance.
2. Tell us about DIVA DYMES MAGAZINE and what prompted you to create the outlets?
Diva Dymes was created with my daughter and nieces in mind. All of whom are looking to get into the Fashion industry I thought of the concept just to give them and other young ladies an example of a positive route that they can venture into as far as a modeling career.
3. With your successful experiences allowing you to connect with people across the globe, what are some of your day to day activities? What EXCITES you about any ONE of your day to day activities?
Networking with perspective clients for the magazine in different countries such as London and Paris and here in the U.S. is just enough excitement for me.
4. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?
My fun is going on vacation with my family. I would like to go jet skiing.
5. One thing on my Life List is to travel overseas to the Motherland.
6. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world?
My children keep me grounded.
I donate clothing to the Volunteers of America every year.
7. What are 2 qualities that you prefer and respect about your mate at this point in your life?
I respect the fact that he respects and loves me unconditionally. I think those are 2 major components along with trust that makes for a great and long lasting relationship.
8.Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice early on and what was it?
My mother, she always let me know that education was very important to make it in this world. She told me you could never learn too much.
9. What piece of business advice would you like to share?
There is no better feeling than starting your own business and being passionate about whatever it is your business is about.
Always follow your dreams and don’t let anyone block your blessings.
10. Brownstone, Town House OR Condominium? High Heel, Low Heel OR No Heel? Good Food, Good Sleep OR Good Book?
Brownstone, I’m a city girl ☺
Low heel.
Good food followed by a good book makes me sleep good ☺
11. What word would best describe you right now? Mellow

1. If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? Why? Do you meditate, pray or/and take time to mentally relax? If so what part of the day/how long?
My own original song off my new CD, “Happy To Be Me.” It is sassy, a little funny and positive.
I pray everyday. I have tried “set times” like a devotional time and it never works with my schedule. Lately, I end up praying a lot on my pillow at night. I found a cool tip from one of the hundreds of books I 've read in the last year that I have really found to be helpful. You pray and empty all your worries and concerns with your head turned to the right. When you are done you turn your head to the left and fall asleep. It is symbolic that you are allowing someone else (in my case God) to handle your burdens for you.
2. Tell us about your album, HAPPY TO BE ME.
Happy to Be Me is an EP of songs that tell my story of Love, Self-Acceptance, Self-Empowerment, and not giving up on dreams.
3. Having been the TV Host of "On The NY Circuit" and touring, what part of your life's journey lead you on your path to singing/songwriting?
Out of my multiple pursuits, I have been singing the longest, and my voice is my bread and butter. I attended Louis Armstrong Middle School for the performing arts in Queens (NY), and my love of music was cemented there and I knew it was my life calling.
Songwriting came to me out of necessity after being frustrated with material that was written for me. Other people never quite got the melody just right for me…. or the lyrics said things I would never utter! This CD is the perfect expression of who I am and what I want to say-I’m so proud of it and hope and pray people love it!
4. With your successful experiences (such as having a song placed on ABC Family's "The Secret Life Of American Teenagers", MTV's "Made", the CW network's "Gossip Girl" and "One Tree Hill" to name a few) allowing you to connect with people across the globe, what are some of your day to day activities? What EXCITES you about any ONE of your day to day activities?
Day to Day? It would be my active e-mailing promoting my new CD. I am on my computer a lot checking myspace, facebook, youtube, etc. What excites me about this is meeting all the new people. I really love people! I would much rather meet people face to face, and truthfully am not so great on the computer, but I have forced myself to learn because I realized it was necessary to further my career.
5. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?
I love to people watch in NYC, go to the movies, go to museums and I love to EAT-especially nice restaurants! I actually want to try windsurfing or hang gliding, because I am afraid of heights and I want to stretch myself.
6. One thing on my Life List is to go to Hawaii, go to a Pineapple Farm, learn how to hula dance and see a volcano-all in the same day!
7. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever-changing world?
My zany mother. She had the ROUGHEST childhood-think abusive mother, alcoholic father, and raised in NYC in extreme poverty, yet she is the most positive, energetic person! She put herself through college at NYU with two kids and no money, and now has a successful career and beautiful home, with the ability to see the bright side of every situation.
8. What are 2 qualities that you prefer and respect about your mate at this point in your life?
Well, do we have to keep this G-rated?? Just kidding…I respect my husband’s integrity. Also he is the most loyal person I’ve met, with a strong sense of what really matters. He truly does the “right thing” in his dealings with people-even if he loses out on something materialistically because of it. He also produced my new CD entirely and did a fantastic job, which took him hundreds of hours, I am so thankful to him for that.
9. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice early on and what was it?
My grandmother taught me so much. One little nugget that stood out would be to look people in the eye when you talk to them. It shows you care. Also a funny piece of advice she gave me was if men whistle at you on the street, hold your head high and ignore them. I wonder who was whistling at my grandmother on the street? She was hot back in her day, God rest her soul.
10. What piece of business advice would you like to share?
Celebrate your small victories! I recently booked a guest appearance on a CNBC TV show promoting my new CD of course-and you better believe I celebrated by going to get my hair done! Even a cup of tea at STARBUCKS can be a celebration!
11. Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin OR Fig Newton? Brownstone, Town House OR Condominium? Good Food, Good Sleep OR Good Book?
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Raisin and Craisins! I am a cookie connoisseur.
Brownstone with a nice back yard in the city.
GOOD FOOD!! Puhhh-leeease!! I AM ITALIAN!!!
12. What is NEXT for you in 2009 and beyond?
What’s next is to take my music business success to the next level. I want to be a household name for positive, peppy, pop that brings happiness into people’s day to makes the world a brighter place.
13. What word would best describe you right now? Focused.

Natures Dance A Peom By Hope (16) Michigan
Tick! Tip! Tap!
The sound of my pigeon sized shoes against the concrete floor.
Dancing like sun against water. Happy as ever.
With nothing stopping me. Moving like the breeze so calm and gentle.
Graceful. Dancing like no child had ever danced before.
No technique just the style of the heart. Moving freely like the leaves on a tree.
The love of dance keeps my nature streaming.
