The FixYaFace Inner Beauty/Outer Wellness Blogazine is humbled by the return of the true motivators! YOURSELVES! And to the new viewers that have chosen this site as worthy of your time. We thank you immensely and welcome you always to write, read and pass along any of the topics that inspired you in your daily activities. New ideas and revised approaches that rejuvenate our mind were born out of meditation, thoughtful words, at home facials, writing down your weekly goals, cardio exercises, yoga moves and more. You got yourself some and got going!!

All we ever wanted was result, results, results. We re-negotiate our movements everyday. And now you have results. YES, you do. YOU have started a task, topic or time line that you have completed. Pause and think about it... Seeee, there it is. Celebrate the results of doing differently. Differently crept in when you stopped overeating late at night, stopped speaking first-then thinking later, stopped confusing a need with a want and stopped complaining about something you can actually change. YAAAY YOU!! It's not for me to know how you did it but (a higher power, I believe) and YOU worked it out:) You worked it out from within first. To present it as your new pattern/habit for positive results. This is our day, our year, our summer, our world. Wow, the WORLD is ours.
At some point you have to smile about it! Have fun, have faith and FIX YA FACE! (Have a great Mother's Day)

Exercises Of The Month:1. Drink more water and fresh juice. 2. Write down 2 small but specific goals for today-check them off as you go along.

"Working It Out" From Within...Thursday May 1, 2008

BANANA BLISS

You are a visionary, vibrant and very frugal when necessary! I know your minutes in this lifetime will consist of positive events where you can display these very same ideas. Congrats on using your abilities to balance a adequate lifestyle. No matter the task at hand, you developed a method of satisfaction. The days of relying on unreliable methods/people/thoughts are OVER! You worked it out by developing a strategy within for thriving :) Keep going! Keep learning! Keep loving!
Consider yourself to know the least in the room, that way you can absorb the positive energy and all the new revelations that come with constantly growing. This May, everyone you meet CAN be an opportunity to learn or exchange working concepts. Your life has valuable properties and you can continue to discover your joy in your journey. As others learn about themselves through their perspectives, it is not for you to change them but for you to choose them as valuable partners in your journey or NOT. Like-minded, positive people will always find each other. And it's always pleasure to see you here at FYF:)

The New Fruit Of The Month is thick, big and long (who the? lol). Yes, just because it's skin is yellow, please do not confuse it with a cowardly consumption. The skin is never needed anyway so peel it off and work it out. Your body will thank you for what your mouth is about to stuff into it (who said..forget it, lol). Of course we are talking about the banana. The banana contains Fiber (lowers the risk of heart disease, diabetes and kidney stones), Potassium (reduces risk of high blood pressure), B6 (balances hormones/strenghthens the immune system) Add a little fiber to your meal, summer drink or at-home facial/mask. Their in abundance at most neighborhood grocers so enjoy.
As per healthmad.com, the 6 most popular types are:

Manzano Banana

is short and chubby with a mild strawberry-apple flavor, and the skin is black when it's ripe.

Baby/Nino Banana

Baby/Nino banana is about three inches long. When they are ripe, they turn bright yellow and have a rich, sweet flavor, and creamy texture.

Burro banana

The Burro banana is round and has a squared off ends. This is stubbier, smaller, and more rectangular in shape than Cavendish yellow banana.

Red Banana

The Red banana is heartier and slightly sweeter than yellow banana. When ripe, they have maroon/purple skin to almost black, and the flesh is pinkish, or salmon yellow.

Plantain banana

The Plantain banana is starchy and lower in sugar. It has to be cooked before serving since it's unsuited to eat it raw. Plantains are native of India, and grow mostly in tropical climates.

Cavendish banana

The Cavendish banana is the most popular banana in the U.S. Sometimes it is also known as the Chiquita because Chiquita is the globe's largest banana producer. America eats more bananas than any other fresh fruits.

Smoothie-licious
I've used my blender every other day in April for this delicious vitamin fruit boost. Place 2 peeled bananas, 10 strawberries and slightly blend for 10 seconds. Then place ice cubes, 1 handful of blueberries and 2 teaspoon of yogurt and blend to the thickness of your choice. I cleaned the blender before having the smoothie, to ready for the next usage.
This made 4 servings

At Home Banana FIXYAFACIAL Scrub
Clean your face/neck with your cleanser of choice. Rinse thoroughly twice. Pour 1 teaspoon of Olive Oil into a bowl of 1 mashed banana and stir in 1.5 teaspoon of white sugar. Stir for 2 minutes. Apply mixture to face. Scrub in outward circular motion for 1 minute then rinse off with warm water. Apply for a second time but leave on for 3 minutes.

Banana Crunch Muffins

3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 extra-large eggs
3/4 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (2 bananas)
1 cup medium-diced ripe bananas (1 banana)
1 cup small-diced walnuts
1 cup granola
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
Dried banana chips, granola, or shredded coconut, optional Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Line 18 large muffin cups with paper liners. Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Add the melted butter and blend. Combine the eggs, milk, vanilla, and mashed bananas, and add them to the flour-and-butter mixture. Scrape the bowl and blend well. Don't overmix.
Fold the diced bananas, walnuts, granola, and coconut into the batter. Spoon the batter into the paper liners, filling each 1 to the top. Top each muffin with dried banana chips, granola, or coconut, if desired. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the tops are brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly, remove from the pan, and serve.

VANESSA CORE (NY)

1. What keeps you feeling beautiful and energetic? If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? The new love & appreciation I have for my spirit keeps a smile on my face because "there is nothing I can not do". "Free Your Mind" by En Vogue reflects my vibe right now. Having an open mind means I will always be able to grow & growth is important for the soul. What is your favorite physical exercise? My most favorite would have to be dance. Dance has been a part of my being since a young child going to my African dance classes, performing at family functions, doing talent shows and dancing professionally. Now, I get up early in the morning and pop in my salsa aerobics tape, my hip hop abs or my Beyonce dvd and work it out! Do you meditate, pray or/and take time to mentally relax? If so why/how long? On a normal morning before I put my toes on the floor I give thanks for my eyes opening up yet another day. Usually, before drifting off to sleep at night I reflect on all the days events and make a mental note of what I would like to do differently and also celebrate the results of the things I have been successful in doing differently.
2. Your successful past experiences range from Personal Assistant for rap pioneer Big Daddy Kane to a Real Estate Loan Officer and NOW the New York Assistant to the legendary Paul McCartney allows you to connect with people across the globe. Tell us about McCartney Productions Limited. What are some of your day to day activities?

MPL is a music publishing company and I have learned and aquired so many blessings in the 7 1/2 years
I have been with the company. Being there has exposed me to the pubishing side of the music business. and being an assistant has given me the opportunity to be exposed to people from all over and situations one could only dream of.

3. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try? I love anything that has to do with music. Seeing my friends perform at their shows or going to concerts. I secretly would like to try hand gliding.

4. One thing on my Life List is well...The first thing at the top of my life list would be to see my visions of an organization that caters to and assists women of color and their families in coping with common health and daily coping issues. I know these organizations exist but there's no direct help in my community. Women have a lot on their plate and they need a more direct connection to the assistance they require. A place they can reach out to for any issue, health, babysitting, rehabilitations centers, shelters, used clothes etc.

5. What/Who keeps you grounded in an ever changing world? The power of prayer and the people in my circle keep stability in my life. I have a wonderful support system.

Good Night Sleep ~ I am always sleepy and I cannot function if I need a nap. Good Pair of Shoes ~ I can't make power moves if my feet hurt. Good Food ~ Food is easier to digest when it has been enjoyed.

One of her degrees is in Sociology and her occupation causes her to see some effects of how social interaction relates to life outlooks in adults. You are there for homework help, art projects and cultural development activities. More over you are there to be an adult to hang out with. You are a role model to see out options in life outside of there parents. Parents are always a child's first role model. The positive support of a parents can give a child the opportunity to explore there dreams.

I when to the same camp for 10 years so I had the same groups leaders for years. I looked up to them because they were will to listen to my problems and not judge me the same way I thought my mom might. The website for the camp I went is www.mmcc.org. and I have worked at www.oasischildendsserives.org When I was at camp we would play sports and do arts and crafts. I was able to develop independent thinking by doing crafts and leading games.
