The FIX YA FACE - Inner Beauty & Outer Wellness Blog welcomes our avid readers and motivation seekers. It with a true pleasure and respect for your time that I aim to keep you interested with positive quotes, fresh fruit ideas and interviews with some of today's brightest women. Once again, thank you for continuing with us and to the newcomers I say thank you for joining the journey:) I am forever humbled by the kind words and dialogue that is exchanged via emails, here at FYF. Taking the challenge to motivate each other is a heart warming event that should be bigger than a trend. Although, trends are created by ordinary people that persist in their movement. Doing it over and over again. If it looks worthy-like their "doing it up", then you may want to do that too. Let your movements here on this earth turn into authentic moments worthy of capturing this time in your life. Let me be one of the first to applaud you on whatever is to come:)

Enjoy this wonderful month of October ladies and gentlemen! Hope life experiences were good for you last month or if you feel it can still be a little better this month- RE-DO IT! Giving All Things Good Another Chance To Be Even Better ...Monday October 1, 2007

TOMATO SWEETNESS

One of the sweetest things about life is your abundant opportunities. That's right-as long as you are alive, there IS more for you to do-have-and be here. When you recognize your wealth (well-being) as you go on with your daily routine, you can only be thankful. Try not to let a difficult decision stop you just because it stumps you.
Take a chance. Heck, take a second chance. It's all yours. Give colorful fruits a second chance to be a part of your healthy eating plan. Eating plans are meant to be revised. You never really do bad. You just have to do different sometimes.

This October reschedule some quiet time for yourself. Regroup. Revisit your imagination by reading a fictional book or restart your listing of secret recipes for that family cookbook. Do something fun. Fun can be free.Free your mind.

The new Fruit of The Month takes juicy to a whole new level. This firm specimen does the body good when swallowed but it's goodness is spectacular when it's all over your face(wow! where's that come from? lol) Riped and ready is how we like it. Size doesn't really matter (stop it! ya'll are too much, lol) Yes you guessed it. We are talking about the about the Tomato.

Tomatoes can be baked, juiced, sauteed or just sliced and eaten! Your neighborhood supermarket might have several types at affordable prices. The types vary from Early, Mid Season to Late Season.Tomatoes are loaded with Lycopene. Lycopene is a proven antioxidant, that may lower the risk of certain diseases including cancer and heart disease. Tomatoes Vitamin A and Vitamin C protects the body from free radicals that cause tissue/cellular damage & aids in promoting healthy gums

Today frowning is not an option, doubting yourself (or others) will not do either. Focus. Think thoughts that will make you smile genuinely. FIX YA FACE. Feel Good. Look Great. And do well out there:)

Tomatoe Ideas

Tomato Juiced:
With cold water, I rinsed 5 tomatoes and I sliced them before placing the slices in a bowl. One by one, I drop a sliced into my juicer until all has been juiced and fallen into a quart size container Then I take the fiber/shreds of the fruits and re-enter them in the juicer to get as much juice as I can from the skins. I placed a scoop of the remaining pulp, along with ice, into the juiced remains. Put a top on the container then shake well. Served on the day of juicing with breakfast and lunch.

TOMATO PULP FACE-TION:
The tomato pulp left from juicing was used as a extra cleanser. I washed my face with glycerin soap then rinsed with cold water, then warm water. Then the tomato pulp was applied and left on my face for 30 minutes. I rinsed the pulp off and felt refreshed,

MARCELLA PRECISE'S FAVORITE FIND OF THE MONTH
LipGlass:Lustre Glass by MAC Cosmetics

...is a subtle way to be reward your lips. This creamy glaze Lipgloss shines for hours at a time and soothes beyond compare for me. I appreciate the Lipglass because I can give lipsticks a break but still feel soft. The enticing scents Love Nectar, Star Nova and Morning Glory (to name a few) come in complimenting shades for diverse complexions. Sometimes all you need is a little moisturizer and Lipglass to take on the day:) If you try it, feel free to write us at FYF about it.

A Beautiful Mind welcomes

JULIA BEVERLY

1. What keeps you feeling beautiful? If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? A good hour at the gym. DJ Khaled "We Takin Over"

2. With the successful of your 2nd Ozone Award event, do you have any ideas for new ventures as well?
Yes, I'd like to use the Ozone brand to move into other outlets. There's a lot of new technology and ways to reach people beyond just print.
3. When did you know that you wanted to start Ozone Magazine? What are you most proud of that you've done? It wasn't really a conscious decision, it just happened gradually and people enjoyed it so I wanted to keep doing it. I'm most proud of the first Ozone Awards because there was so many obstacles we overcame to make it happen, and I think it turned out to be a historic moment for the South.

4. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?
I want to go skydiving. I mostly exercise for fun. Play basketball, run or work out.

5. What keeps you grounded in an ever changing world? Having time to myself to think. Prayer & the people around me that I trust.

6. What are 3 qualities that you prefer in a mate at this point in your life?
Somebody who's as driven/motivated as I am if not more, understands me & accepts me the way I am & is totally honest with me even if it hurts.

7. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice and what was it? It was real hectic at the first Ozone Awards and being my first event like that, the stress was written all over my face. One of my closest friends pulled me aside and gave me a pep talk. He said that everyone was looking to me, and as long as I looked like everything was going great, they would assume it was. He was right.

8. What piece of business advice would you like to share?
Credibility and reputation is very important. Don't promise anything you can't follow through on and make it a point to always follow up and complete things you've put your word on.

Sweet Tea and Blue Jeans

10. What word would best describe you right now?

A Beautiful Mind welcomes
DJ SYNCITY

1. What keeps you feeling beautiful? If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? Accomplishments, doing power moves, being my own boss, giving to others, my significant other makes me feel beautiful and in a physical sense. I do think I'm fly when I spend enough time to get ready. Life is a sound track but one of the songs is "Independent Women" by Destiny's Child...the title speaks for itself!

2. With the success of EPYDEMIK LLC and your extensive DJing schedule allowing you to travel the globe, what are your day to day activities? It varies from days to weeks to months. While on tour, generally, I wake up at 10am, get breakfast, meet crew in front of the hotel, travel all day to the next location and check-in or I either go with the artists to do their promo radio and store runs. I like to do those because I get to network or I go back at the hotel and rest. Then go to the gym, go to sound check before the artists, stay in the dressing room and hope for food. Then it's showtime, after-party, back to the hotel. While not on tour, I either go to the gym, yoga or dance class everyday to keep myself in shape. I also walk and take care of my puppy. Now I go to school 4 times a week for business. I am also enrolled in a acting school. I do my music at home and DJ once/twice a week. I also edit and produce segments for allhiphop.com . I run my company, EPYDEMIK LLC from a home office, while on the move. I make sure to have my quiet time so I can keep myself in peace.

3. When did you know that you wanted to become a DJ? What are you most
proud of that you've done? I wanted to DJ since my early teens just to say I could do it too but I only became one professionally a few years ago when DJ Roc Raida actually gave me some of his equipment to start up. I'm most proud of how I have organized an annual outdoor hip-hop event for the community of Cote-Des-Neiges, a more so urban region, in m
y hometown in Montreal and that it is 10 years running. it's now called "Gravity Rock". I wanted to give back to the kids. As far DJ'ing, I'm just happy I am entertaining people and making people hype about music.

4. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?
I'm a movie fan. I looove movies and I go to the beach by my house. I enjoy shopping. I like going to the studio and vibe to people's new music. I would love to sky dive, scooba dive, travel more overseas and South America.

5. One thing on my Life List is
to become an Icon in the history of entertainment.

6. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world? My friends, my family and good books like Russell Simmons "Do You: 12 Laws of Success and Happiness".

7. W hat are 3 qualities that you prefer in a mate at this point in
your life? Good manners like being a gentleman...opening doors...cleaning up after themselves
. Being thoughtful like flowers..I love them...calling to let make sure I'm ok. And having it together because I am attracted to people that are like myself. Have career goals and it's always good to have the means to do a lot more when people are financially self-sufficient.

8. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice and what was it?
Russell Simmons: "DO YOU". It's simple but the best advice ever. I respect Mr Simmons for his accomplishments so the advice was significant to me.

9. What piece of business advice would you like to share?
Don't be afraid to take chances because you will never know until you try. A failure is not a loss, it's actually a gain to learn from a m
istake to make it better the second time around.

10. Champagne, Wine or Sparkling Apple Cider? Blue Jeans, Dress or
Skirt? Champagne, I loves it bubbly! I'm more of a jean person because it's comfortable but u will see me in skirts and dresses as well.

I'm very happy to have found this blog...it's great, inspiring, and has a ton of information....

If you don't mind, I'd like to make a few extra comments about tomatoes:

- Sure, they're full of lycopene but the lycopene is only activated when the tomato is heated. So stock up on tomato sauce and the like for all your lycopene dreams! :)

- tomato is a nightshade plant. Nightshade plants have higher amounts of oxalic acid, which can block calcium absorption. If you eat a lot of tomatoes, make sure to have some form of calcium intake after 20 minutes.

I hope this helps (and not hurts). Keep up the good work!! I loves it! :)
