Summer This, Summer That. Enjoying Life With Optimistic Eyes

Hi there Ladies and Gentlemen! Thank you for finding this space worthy of your precious time. Your truly appreciated here and encouraged to return as well as share your thoughts of how we can motivate each other in this ever changing world. Feel free to embrace any food recipes, terms of encouragement and bright ideas noted beyond this point, if it helps you through your day/week/month. Nothing is ever really New but every event we experience is necessary somehow. Here's to living with an open mind and open heart that supports a future brighter than we could have ever imagined!!!! Everyday is not promised to any of us but with a grateful thought-that we DID indeed get this day- we can aim to be our best in it, share goodness towards someone else and perform as if we KNOW this is a precious day. Let this summer be our best summer ever for reasons bigger than ourselves. Reasons that could change the world, aid a friend or stranger and leave your mark of happiness.

Once again, wonderful weather days are ahead I believe. Soak up the sun, open a business that warms your heart, read a book that enlightens your life's concepts, eat foods that lead to a great tasting experience, dance to your own destiny's beat, go on a vacation for your soul. Just do it! What ever it is. You will be glad you did and smile about it later.
That is how you have fun, have faith and Fix Ya Face:)

Have a wonderful SUMMER!!! IT'S YOURS! See you soon.

A Beautiful Mind welcomes

DEIRDRE CASH-SIMMONS (AR/NY)

I am from Little Rock, AR, lived in West Lafayette, IN, Southfield, MI, Chicago & Maywood, IL, various cities in New Jersey and New York and now reside in Brooklyn, NY

1. If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? Do you meditate, pray or/and take time to mentally relax? If so, what part of the day? For how long?

One song-C'mon! Ledisi's 'Today' is what I walked down the aisle to and it is still relevant for me. Back to Eden-Donald Lawrence, Bottles & Cans-Angie Stone and so much more LOL!

2. Tell us about being CAST YOUR NET Travel & Romance
This business is an on-line travel portal where you can book cruises, flights, hotels, car services, excursions and ALL THINGS TRAVEL. The bonus is if everyone goes to the site they can sign up for ZAMZUU which is an on-line shopping mall and they can earn cash back. There are over 700 stores and ours never close.

The most important aspect of our business is the ability to develop others, teach them about business ownership, help others earn additional income and grow as a team together. This is the Cast Your Net 153 area (John 21)

3. What new result (s) and/or positive occurrences are you most proud of so far from this?

The way we have decided to approach this business. Our website offers great deals for travel and our motto is "Getting people to where they need to be" but it's more than travel. We help our team learn about leadership skills, business skills and it's about touching people and "Getting them where they need to be" mentally, from a leadership perspective and keeping God first in everything we do

4.What early part of your life's journey prompted you to go forth this necessary outlet?

My husband wanted to own a travel business and was interested in this trillion dollar industry and as his "helpmate" I was going to support and encourage him. The skills that help me be successful and a full partner are my strong HR skills , platform training, communication & leadership and willingness to do the work.

5. With some of your successful experiences allowing you to connect with other purposeful people, what are some of your day to day activities ?
I am on the Board of an HR organization, head up a committee for another activity, am on various ministries at church and keep abreast of networking activities. Now, just because I stay involved doesn't mean that's the reason why I connect with purposeful people: because I am interested in helping others, following what God has for me and uplift others, like minded people gravitate to me.

In addition to the travel and e-commerce business, I lead seminars, moderate sessions and do training presentations and this puts me in the realm of people with influence. Like our business (www.castyournettravel.com) diversification is the key.

6. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?

I love spending time with my husband walking through the city. You can't buy memories and special moments but it's what is most cherished. I like doing commercials and voice-overs (when I can get booked) and I love dance.

I want to try getting into golf more since that is one of our specialty travel areas (www.castyournetgolf.com)

7. One thing on my Life List is... to finish the books I have started writing..become a full fledged published author.

8. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world?
My husband of course. He is a loving, fun, purposeful man of God. He is able to keep the world in perspective for me when I am overwhelmed. The other person is my mother who always provided a good word for guidance and development. When I was younger, she was the queen of cliche's but they always seem to fit and make sense. One of the things she old me was "To thine own self be true." She is sick now so please keep her in your prayers.

9. What are 2 qualities that you prefer and respect about your mate at this point in your life?

His love and faith in God as shown through his actions and his knowledge and perspective on people and the world. As a bonus, he is sexy.
10. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice early on and what was it?

My grandmother and mother who both told me that I can be and do anything I wanted.

11. What piece of business advice would you like to share?
There is so much...
1. Be flexible, things change and if you don't change with them you will be obsolete (Read: Who Moved My Cheese)

2. Know what's in you that's keeping you from success like inability to communicate effective, work well with others, etc... ( I do a presentation on this)

3. Prune your trees (don't keep branches ((people)) that are negative, weigh you down and don't help in your growth etc). Keep in mind everyone has their bad days and maybe you need to be the salt in their lives to uplift them. Matthew 5:13

4. Do a new thing! Isaiah 43:19...If you do what you always did you will get what you always got (Read the 10 Distinctions between Millionaires and the Middle Class). Like a boat if you stay at the shore you will never get anywhere...try something new.

5. Operate with integrity and in truth. If it's not true don't say it and if it's not right, don't do it.

12. What is NEXT for you in 2010 and beyond?
We want to increase our team in this business with people who want to help others, want some passive income, are willing to learn and understand that the benefits of a home based business can't be overlooked. The tax benefits are worth it. (see www.zamzuu.biz/castyournettravel.com for a short video about the industry). If anyone is interested, they can reach out to us at castyournet153@gmail.com

13. Choose 1: High Heel, Low Heel OR No Heel? High Heel
Choose 1: Novel, Biographies, Inspirational Book OR Blog ? Inspirational book although I do love Fix Ya Face!!

Choose 1: Fresh Fruit, Fruit Smoothie OR Fresh Fruit Juiced? Fresh Fruit

14. What word(s) would best describe YOU right now?

AYA from the Ghanian Symbol for "fern"symbol of endurance and resourcefulness, ADINKRAHENE from the Ghanian symbol for greatness, charisma and leadershp and BESE SAKA symbol of affluence, power, abundance, plenty, togetherness and unity

A Beautiful Mind welcomes
EJAE (NY)

I'm originally from Boston, but I've lived in New York for the majority of my life. I claim myself as a New Yorker first, but I will always give a shout out to Bean Town! LOL. New York is so rich in culture and diversity. Depending upon where you go in the city, it feels as if you're in another country. I haven't experienced traveling abroad, but I cannot wait to do so. I would love to visit the Palm Islands in Dubai. The scenery is so breathing taking. I would love to just take that all in.

1. If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? Do you meditate, pray or/and take time to mentally relax? If so, what part of the day? For how long?
The song that reflects my life right now would be Sounds of Blackness "Optimistic." It has such a strong message that despite any trials or tribulations your dealing with, always keep your head high and continue to fight. We don't have the final say so in anything. God does. If He wants it to come to pass, it will. I pray every day in the morning. I want to start my day with an positive and sound mind. I get comfort in knowing that when I let go and allow God to take over, things will turn out so much better than what I could have imagined.

2.
Tell us about
FashionistazLife.com
Fashionistaz Life is my baby. I don't have kids, but this is considered my child. LOL. I had wanted to blog about fashion for several years, but fear is what prolonged the process. Honestly, i didn't think I was capable of putting a fashion blog together. I had to follow my heart. I was always called the "fashionista" among my peers. They would come to me for fashion tips, trends etc. Originally it started out as a referral blog.
I would link my readers to sites that they could purchased items. It slowly evolved into celebrity style, entertainment, music and personal issues.
3. What new result (s) and/or positive occurrences are you most proud of so far from this?
I'm most proud of that more readers are reaching out to me for advice and inspiration. Fashionistaz Life isn't just about me. I love helping people with looking good and developing a style that fits their lifestyle. They could have went to any other site, but they chose mine. I'm very appreciative of that.

4.What early part of your life's journey prompted you to go forth this necessary outlet?
I come from a family of creativity. My uncle does photography, my mom does artwork. It's kind of genetic. Early on I was exposed to hip-hop artists such as Run-DMC, UTFO, Whodini, but I was still a little too young to understand what was going on. I just liked what I heard.
Then in the 90s, I was exposed to the video show Video Music Box where I was able to see the artists, their music, fashions truly understand what goes on within the industry. Mr. Ralph McDaniels (the host of the show) was truly an inspiration for me wanting to get in the entertainment field.

5. With some of your successful experiences allowing you to connect with other purposeful people, what are some of your day to day activities ?
I'm truly grateful for the people that have crossed my path. They have all been such big inspirations. They motivate me to work even harder to achieve the best. My day to day activities are to promote leadership and positivity for today's youth. There could be a teen out there who wants a career in entertainment but doesn't know where to start. I would love to be a positive force in their decision.

6. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?
I love to go to clubs or lounges for fun. I have a friend that calls me "We Be Clubbin" cause he feels like I'm always getting my dance on somewhere. LOL. I like to have fun. I can't forget the shopping "field trips" as I call them. I don't discriminate when it comes to where I shop. It can be boutiques in Brooklyn Soho, street vendors or discount stores. If I love it, I will buy it and make it work with my wardrobe. I would love to try those rock climbing classes. It just looks so much fun and can be a great workout too! If I had the courage, I would skydive too.

7. One thing on my Life List is... that I would love to develop a clothing or accessory line at some point. There's alot of ideas brewing in this brain, I just have to put some of the pieces together for it to come alive.

8. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world?
Family and friends keep me grounded. They tell me the real deal. I need that. Sometime people will sugar coat stuff for their own personal gain and then I look like a fool. But my family and friends will shut down any foolishness in a heartbeat.

9. What are 2 qualities that you prefer and respect about your mate at this point in your life?
I'm single by choice. My dating experiences have brought me to the understanding that if I'm not 100% feeling a guy, then it's a waste of time. Dating shouldn't be forced. The qualities I would prefer in a future mate are honesty and understanding. When we communicate and just be upfront, we avoid the drama. Sometime we have to compromise for our mates. It can't always be about me, me, me. We have to come together work things through so that we can make a better team.

10. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice early on and what was it?
My mom was always great with her words. She always told me to never allow anyone to stop me from achieving success. Work hard, ask God for guidance, and surround myself with people who are what I want to become.

11. What piece of business advice would you like to share?

In any type of business, the best advice to is to follow through and follow up. If you trying to get perspective clients or have already sealed the deal, you need to put your money where your mouth is (follow through). Also, you need to stay on top of your business and not just rely on whenever a client will get you an answer. Because sometime, they may not get back to you in a timely manner or at all. You have to follow up!

12. What is NEXT for you in 2010 and beyond?
In 2010 and beyond, I want to continue to build my brand and build Fashionistaz Life on a larger scale. Hopefully, to work with more artists. There is so much talent out there that is yet to be brought forth to the masses. I want my site to be that platform to help them.
13. Choose 1: High Heel, Low Heel OR No Heel? High heels all day. They just look and make me feel so sexy.

Choose 1: Novel, Biographies, Inspirational Book OR Blog ? I love inspirational books.
They give motivation during the rough times.

Choose 1: Fresh Fruit, Fruit Smoothie OR Fresh Fruit Juiced? Fruit Smoothies are my favorite. Especially strawberry-banana.

14. What word would best describe YOU right now?

Driven.
I've been so blessed to have been surrounded by wonderful talented people, it has rubbed off onto me.
