APPRECIATING THE NEW PATH TRAVELED, AFTER THE CROSSROAD

Ladies and Gentlemen! May every feeling be proceeded by a action that leads to what you are aiming for. The FixYaFace Inner Beauty/Outer Wellness Blogazine appreciates your return AND new viewership. It is an open invitation to our minds to "Get reading, get ready and get going". YOU make the difference in the world that YOU live in based on your interpretation, of what YOU can do to be happy. Thank you for feeling as if this space is worthy of your time and that resignates the with the positive energy that you already possess.

With every twist, turn, decision and indecisiveness... there is a moment after. Let's be grateful and supportive to ourselves so that moment can be considered solid. Be at peace with "after". For it was brought upon by very personal "before". Let's feel like it's okay to go on and go forward with the day no matter how new (and even frightening) it is. Something is only new until you experience it and even then THAT is exciting. The crossroad is where roads cross. These roads don't end-they meet. YOU meet. Meet up with a new hope, new endeavor, a new love and a new perspective to rekindle something you cherished. YAAY!!! Here's to continuing on a path that leads to your destiny
.
If you are finding reasons to be grateful today then Love.... is Life and LIFE IS GOOD! I bet you'll smile about it, from the inside first. That is how you have fun, have faith and Fix Ya Face:)

Have a wonderful October! IT'S YOURS! See you soon.

Asparagus Admiration

The New Nut Of The Month is the Asaparagus. They say the cashew aides in minimizing several health issues. With the help of Vitamin K (maintain skin and nail health), folate (health heart promoting/fights against birth defects), good source of Vitamin C (aims to lower blood pressure and better bone health) and potentially has the ability to a natural dieretic. YOU should take inventory of your unique dietary needs to enhance your healthy methods of maintaining that enjoyable life of yours. Small additions can help to subtract the bigger worries.

To the lips, the protection from wind, sun & cold is held together by the jojoba seed and rosemary leaf (along with other ingredients) infusion. FELICIA PRIDE (MA/MD)

1. If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? Do you meditate, pray or/and take time to mentally relax? If so, what part of the day? For how long?
I don’t know if there’s one song that reflects my vibe. But I think Marvin Gaye could have done the soundtrack to my life.

2. Tell us about your book, The Message: 100 Life Lessons from Hip-Hop's Greatest Songs.
In THE MESSAGE, I extract life lessons, words of wisdom, and golden nuggets from a range of hip-hop songs. The life lessons are diverse, hitting on everything from politics to love. The artists featured in the book are also a diverse group—Jay-Z to Jean Grae.

3. Since it's creation, what new result (s) and/or positive occurrences are you most proud of so far?
Well I never thought that I could write a book. So the mere fact that I have accomplished that goal has made a big impact on my life. Also, because the book is used in educational settings around the country, its release has put me in contact with lots of young people, which has allowed me to give back in various ways.

4.What early part of your life's journey prompted you to create such a necessary outlet?
Well life’s hard. And I’m one of those who uses music to get through those hard times. I also use music to celebrate the good ones. And I know I’m not the only one. I wanted to write a book that showed how we use music in our everyday lives.

5. With some of your successful experiences allowing you to connect with other purposeful people, what are some of your day to day activities?
I write every day. I hustle every day. But I’m also working on balance, so that I pursue activities—walking, spending time with friends, cooking—that I enjoy as much as I pursue career ambitions.

6. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?
I actually want to record a CD. I haven’t figured out how I’ll do that since I can’t sing or rap. But I’ll do something. I’ve always wanted to do it!

7. One thing on my Life List is to Travel to Africa.

8. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world?
My mother. She’s amazing and my biggest cheerleader.

9. What are 2 qualities that you prefer and respect about your mate at this point in your life?
Supportive and caring

10. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice early on and what was it?
I have to go with my mother again. When I was contemplating becoming a full-time writer, she said very simply, “go for it.”

11. What piece of business advice would you like to share?
Never undervalue yourself or your services.

12. What is NEXT for you in 2010 and beyond?
Writing and more writing. I’m working on film and book projects.

13. Choose 1: Novel, Biographies, Inspirational Book OR Blog? The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Choose 1: Cookies n Cream, Butter Pecan OR Strawberry?
Cookies n Cream
Choose 1: Fresh Fruit, Fruit Smoothie OR Fresh Fruit Juiced?Fresh fruit

14. What word would best describe you right now?
FLOWING

LORNA SOLANO (NY)

1. If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? Do you meditate, pray or/and take time to mentally relax? If so, what part of the day? For how long?

Hmm… Is there a song that reflects my vibe? That’s a tough question because anyone that knows me knows that I very rarely listen to lyrics. I am beats kind a person if its catchy I will probably like it. That being said, at the moment the song that describes me is “Live Your Life with Rihanna featuring T-Pain.” When you meet so many people it is easy to get caught up in another person’s life and that’s not what I am about. I want to everyone to do what’s best for them but I need to focus on me and doing what’s best for me. You know? a. To answer your second question, I often find myself practicing relaxation techniques when I am about to go to bed. I find that when it is time for me to sleep, my mind starts to race. I think about many different ideas that I should implement while it is good thing I need to mentally close my mind so that I can get some rest. So, right before I go bed I try meditate and practice some breathing techniques.

2. Tell us about TheFabulousReport.com
My site about is all things fabulous. I kid. But seriously my site discusses the best that NY nightlife has to offer including parties with A-lister such as Iman, Selita Ebanks, Edward Norton and that's just some of my recent event coverage. I also hope to introduce readers to new products or help you look at products/clothes in a different way. I just wrote about “wife beaters” as a fabulous find which is funny since I wrote it everyone has been giving me tips about where to find them. I eventually want to take people into the closets of some of my most fashionable friends - seriously don’t you just have a friend whose closet you would just love to raid? I know I do. I basically want to have a site where I feel like I am talking to my friends about what I am doing and other fun stuff.

3. What early part of your life's journey prompted you to start it?

That’s an interesting question. When I was a little girl, I used to have tons of dolls and truthfully I never really played with them. I used to only collect them because it would make my friends jealous (what do you expect from me I was seven?) but not because I enjoyed the experience of playing with them like my friends did. One year though my mom brought me a tiny sewing machine that actually made clothes. I was hooked. I loved my dolls then because I was making clothes that I liked. Even at that age, I knew that fashion was for me. Life however took me on a different course for some time. But it is funny how everything seems to have come full circle.
4. With some of your successful experiences allowing you to connect with other purposeful people, what are some of your day to day activities?

Anyone who is some form of entertainment or public service knows a big part of the job is just managing relationships and reaching out to people and I am no different. I spend a part of my morning emailing people that I’ve recently met or people that I’ve met a while back just to say hello and catching up with people. Doing this simple task has helped me maintain some important relationships and establish new ones. And, maintaining relationships is the first step getting your name out there. I then try to work on my to do list make sure that I’ve accomplished all of my goals for the day. I want to make sure that I’ve posted a certain amount of articles during the day. So I spent some time doing that. I want to make sure that I know what’s going on in the world so I read many of the news sites and some of the gossip ones. I check the some fashion forums and some message boards all for ideas about future topics and new designers.

5. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?
Hmmm.. For fun I like to really catch up with friends over drinks or dinner. I love going to Pomme Frites but friends not so much. LOL. I also enjoy reading gossip magazine. I am addicted to reading them. Even I know most of the stuff is not true, I find it amusing . What would I like to try? I want to say Sky Diving but it’s probably not going to happen. I am not going down like that. So, I say diving. 6. One thing on my Life List is to Climb Mt. Everest! I kid the only climbing I am doing is the stairs to a party. I kid. LOL. But seriously, since I was a teenager I’ve always wanted to open a school in Honduras (where I am from) in honor of my grandmother and my heritage. My grandmother is most feisty person I know even today she doesn’t take anything from anyone and I admire her a lot.

7. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world?

I would have to say my family and my friends keep me grounded. Like, I have this one friend that no matter what's going on my life she always makes me laugh and always reminds about me the little things. She will ask me questions that to an outsider will sound strange but to us is normal. I would give you an example but you don't really want to know. Trust me. Ha, ha. Anyways, having friends like her and the other people in life always reminds me that I have support in my life.

8. What are 2 qualities that you prefer and respect in a mate at this point in your life?

Just two? That’s not many. Ha ha. That’s probably why I don’t have a man. I want too much. However, since I have to narrow it down I am going say humility and humor. 9. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice early on and what was it?

No one owes you anything. Since, I’ve gotten that advice I’ve just been happier. If I do something it is because I want too and whoever I am doing it for doesn’t owe me anything. It lifts the burden on expectations and makes you work harder for everything because you feel that you have to earn “anything and everything.”

10. What piece of business advice would you like to share?
Always be gracious. You will be surprise how far saying thank you will get you. 11. Choose 1: Reggae, Rock, R&B OR Jazz? Reggae Choose 1: Yoga, Cardio, Light Weights? I am lazy... I don’t really any of the three. Choose 1: Green Tea, Carrot Juice, Bottled Water? I am green so I very rarely buy bottle water but water for me. For sure. 12. What word would best describe you right now? HAPPY

SHE DID IT!!
****************
HONORS:
A wonderful person. I wanted to re-share her testimony I call:

BENITA'S BLESSING
Surviving a ANEURISM… 2 Years Later

It was two years ago today I suffered a "Brain Bleed"... Aneurism. The day started out as any other normal day but by-far ended with me in Cornell Hospital with a tube draining blood and fluid from my brain.
So... one year later my life has changed to say the lease. You never fully understand the journey your to go through when your faced with something so life altering. I've been challenged with things I as a believer thought I couldn't possibly face. "I was Raised up", "I'm a Miracle", "I'm Healed" all the things we say but deep down inside I was still in a coma!! I was in a semi-conscience state... I was dealing with short-term memory loss...can you understand what that's like not remembering things from just moments or a day ago. I was dealing with depression...and "SAINTS" yes we do get depressed!!! I didn't understand, why me??? In my mind I was less of a women, wife, mother and friend... never-mind "the Evangelist" I even started preaching harder, traveling further, going deeper...when all the while my husband/friend kept saying to me "you got to take it easy", "slow down", "this is a process", "I don't think you realize what you've been through" "don't do too much", YOU NEED TO REST!!! But I didn't listen... was I being governed by GOD or myself???
So it all began to break for me in Aug... my life changed drastically, I faced the fact that I was depressed (at times), I realized my relationships were not 100%, my communication with everyone got short, and as my husband would put it I wanted a "Pity-Party". I didn't know when or where I would "GET IT BACK", but I knew that's what I had to do... I had to take my mind off the "church" and the people and put it on the one and only my Redeemer, Healer, Mind- Regulator, Savior. God said "I will keep your mind in perfect peace, who's mind is stayed on Me" I had to get to a place where I could do only one thing and that was see GOD.
I want you to know, who ever will read this.... God is the same yesterday.. today.. and forever... no matter what you go through He is still the Same GOD!!!! No matter how challenging the test. We must learn to tap into our source which is the higher power "GOD", not to be beaten... but to beat it.... Not to allow the adversary to get any victory. The Victory is in you or YOU wouldn't be tempted with the test. A teacher never test the students till he feels they got enough information to get through it!!! God will never give us more than we can bare, now that's a tough statement to adapt but I believe it to be true...He just want to see how we will use the tools or information we already have and possess. Be encouraged to go through, that's the only way you'll get through! One song writer say's " Speak over your-self, Encourage your-self in the Lord"! Another : "In my feelings of despair , holding on to Your Word.. Your always there....When guilt won't set me free, you let me know You died for me on Calvary"...
We can make it ...It will get better, SOON!! B Blessed
