Believing in the Possibilities...Tuesday January 1, 2007

THE ACAI BERRY BOOST

Your energy, perspective and abilities are priceless! Move as if you can not be deterred from the bigger picture. Consciously execute what needs to be done to center yourself and let chaotic energy/ people/ circumstances--go. Let them go, to where they are trying to get to. Which is obviously someplace other than your soul because they are not exchanging a positive respect that the Happier YOU needs to work effectively. It's not healthy to overextend yourself to the exhausted signs of failure. Regroup and relentlessly design strengths within yourself to go towards your bright possibilities.

This January know that you were already doing great yesterday and you are here to spread the word, as to how you made it so far! Honor your commitments, honor your family and honor the higher power that YOU believe in. The news of the happy newer you will touch everyone.

The New Fruit Of The Month gets my skin tingling and my heart pounding. It has the ability to work me over thoroughly ( uuh, who the? lol) It was new to me but nice to me. This tiny purple pleasure has powers of great proportion. Of course I'm talking about the Acai Berry.

The Acai Berry contains B Vitamins (B1-converts sugar into energy, B2- helps process protein calories, B3-promotes healthy digest system), Potassium, Fiber and the cholesterol decreasing Omega 6. Acai is said to help to detoxify the body, fight cancerous cells, induce better sleep and improve circulation . Your heart will thank you for the natural boost.

************************************************************ ***********************
Acai Smoothie:
Add 2 cups of milk to 1 1/2 cup of Acai pulp and banana yogurt (as needed). Pour mixture in a blender with 1/4 cups water and refrigerate until ready to serve.

ScrubbaLuvva #1:Before I took a warm bath, I mashed a handful of Acai in a bowl. Added 3 tspn of white sugar and 1 tspn of almond oil. Stirred slowly and applied all over vigorously for 3 minutes (mainly lower leg & upper arm). Ran the shower for steam and rinsed off loving the feeling of renewed circulation.

"Skin Me" Fruit Salad 08:
We drank 1 cup of water before indulging in this delight. I place a thin layer of whip cream in the bottom of a few short 8 oz. wine glasses. Mixed a handful of Acai, pineapple chunks (sliced in half), strawberry slices and raisins. Drizzled pineapple juice to the mixture before scooping the fruits on top of the whip cream layer. Then I did another thin whip cream layer on top of the fruits. Sat the glasses in the freezer for 5 minutes and shared with our guests. I call it "Skin Me" because we've talked about how good each fruit was for the skin. The whip cream is just goooood, lol. It's best to have sugar in moderation so don't overdue it if you try it:)

MARCELLA PRECISE'S FAVORITE FIND OF THE MONTH
Vanilla+Bergamot Body Butter by Bliss

...has a smooth impact. This romantically scented gem was a delightful surprise in a gift bag that I received at a great event! I'm excited to report that the soothing effects on the body are even greater than the scent. A little dot- does a lot. Rinse off the stress, rub in the wonders and feel the bliss. I did:)

A Beautiful Mind welcomes
OSA ASEMOTA

1. What keeps you feeling beautiful?

Taking care of my mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health keeps me feeling beautiful. I meditate and pray often, read my bible/daily devotionals, which keeps me balanced.
I watch (well..attempt to watch!) my junk food intake, eat more organic foods, drink lots of water, I'm a smoothie fanatic! Anything with mangos, strawberries and bananas. I also try to get at least 7 hours of sleep, which can be very hard sometimes! For my body/skin, I love scrubs and products with Honey and Almonds (Miel y Almendras for my Spanish speaking folks), which are very good for your skin. Some great recommendations:
-L'Occitane Amande Pomme Sweet Peel (a great exfoliant for the face. It's almonds and apples. Smells yummy!)
- My friend Ginger has a great body/makeup line called www.Gingerluxe.com. I love her pomegranate sea salt body scrub.
- Another great site to get beauty products is beautysak.com. They carry hair/body products with fruit extracts and vitamins like Peter Coppola, Borba and Phytospecific. It's also good to read books/articles on wellness, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be? Mary J Blige "Just Fine!"

2. Tell us about THE GIFT AGENCY.

We're a talent and service management production company, consisting of "gifted consultants," which include a full glam/image consulting team, media & event marketing experts. My sister Ekiuwa is a creative soul (Model/Designer/Choreographer) so she oversees the Image Consulting projects. I personally work on more event planning and sponsorship driven projects. Each consultant is used on a per- project basis, which allows them to work on their own independent projects.

3. With your successful experiences allowing you to connect with people around the globe, what are some of your day to day activities?

My activities include corresponding with existing/potential clients on upcoming projects. We've been focusing a lot on fashion/event production services, so I coordinate with sponsors, designers, publicists and talent on a daily basis. I also spend a lot of time researching new companies/organizations as potential sponsors and partners for our upcoming projects. Occasionally, I attend a few events to network and meet new people. With my company, we're in the business of turning our "talents to assets," so I'm always looking to partner with like-minded individuals on individual projects. I also started a music production/writer management division with my partner Abim Ettu, which I'm excited about, as music is my first love.

4. What are you most proud of that you've done?

We just recently wrapped up a photo shoot with a media company for their holiday guide, bringing in various clothing lines, products and gadgets. It involved being creative with how items would be shot. We had a limited budget/time, but were able to successfully produce a great shoot.....and have fun while doing it!

5. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?

I love hanging out with family and friends, movies, events, having get-togethers, meeting new people, going to the movies, vintage shopping! I have been known to frequent a few restaurants. I'm your walking Zagat guide. Lol.

6. One thing on my Life List is that I would love to accomplish being a wife, mother and career woman, like my mom! She, along with my dad raised my siblings and I, while holding down full-time jobs and a family business. That's where I get my entrepreneurial spirit from. My Life List is to be like my loving parents.

7. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world?

Family, Faith, Humility and Unconditional Love.

8. What are 2 qualities that you prefer in a mate at this point in your life?

At this point in my life, Support and Good Morals.

9. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice and what was it?
I've been blessed to meet so many great motivators and Advisors, but one thing I strive to live by is to "Never Settle for Less, or else you'll get less than you settled for."

10. What piece of business advice would you like to share? If you find yourself being more involved in a project than your client, then it's time to fire your client.

11. Green Tea, Iced Latte or Sparkling Apple Cider? Sparkling Apple Cider
Pant Suit, Mini Skirt or Long Dress? Can we do a mini dress and some killer shoes? LoL

12. What word would best describe you right now? Unpredictable.

A Beautiful Mind welcomes
JESSICA IACCARINO

1. What keeps you feeling beautiful? If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be?
What keeps me beautiful is Staying young at heart. Song the best reflects my vibe when I am down is "The Rain Don;t Last Forever" by: HOPE and when I am up it's "I'm Coming Out" by Diana Ross.

2. Tell us about IN THE BASEMENT PRODUCTIONS, LLC.

"In The Basement Productions" is my full service Production Company which specializes in the development of original concepts for television, film and web broadcast with a strong focus on pop culture/music driven/reality based programming. "In The Basement Productions" is in the process of developing a wide variety of shows ranging from docu-soaps to scripted comedies and we are also represented by a huge NYC Agent.

I started in the basement in my Long Island home, the company literally and figuratively was built from the ground up with nothing but love, sweat, tears and a few hundred trips to Starbucks. I believe that many of today's geniuses in the entertainment industry, from 50 Cent to Stephen King, began their monumental careers in their basements. So what better name for the company than "In The Basement Productions." My team at "ITBP" whole-heartily believes in the American dream and all it stands for and we also believe you gotta start somewhere! check it out....www.myspace.com/itbproductions or www.itbproductions.com

3. With your successful experiences allowing you to connect with people around the globe, what are some of your day to day activities?
I am always on my grind, always striving for something BIG. Most recently I have left my day to day production job as Supervising Producer (for undetermined amount of time) to pitch and create my original show ideas and pilots. It was a big risk but I believe sometimes in life "no risk, no reward." I usually follow my gut and for the first time in years
I felt I was ready to take such a big risk. So I am ready to move full force ahead.

As for the day to day. Wake up make ton of phone calls. Either write, shoot, produce or work on one of the four projects I have going. I had to actually learn how to edit & shoot and all that good stuff because my industry is fiercely competitive so I figured better make my self multi-talented. It worked, now I don't have to to fall on anyone...I can do it
all myself. Plus I LOVE it, so far I'm constantly learning and doing it for fun.

4. What are you most proud of that you've done?
Making on the reality show "America's Next Producer." I made it to the final two. It was a great experience and tested not only me professionally but also personally. I can honestly walk away from an experience like that and say "You know what? I did a great job. I acted very professional and did the best to my potential." The show also let me see myself go through the creative process first hand...it was definitely bizarre but gratifying because you could see how much I love what I do. Even the judges noticed it time and time again...they would say "Jessica lives and breathes this stuff, Jessica is passionate, Jessica has a sparkle in her eye." For me that's what it was always about so it really hit home and definitely assured me I am on the right path.

5. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?
I love going out to eat! Any type of food. I am always up to try something new. I also love massages, going to the beach and seeing my nephews. Something new I'd like to try? Ballet.

6. One thing on my Life List is nearly impossible for me... It's amazing though everything I ever put on my "Life List" I have achieved in time and I mean everything! From being on a Reality TV show right down to ""Partying with 50 Cent!" I have been to 50's house a few times (for both work & pleasure) in the past year. It's amazing what creative visualization can do!

But let's see...Life List, I still have so many. But what comes first to my mind in to produce a groundbreaking documentary that reaches millions of lives and has a part in changing the way people think (ie. Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth) oh and being the female Aaron Spelling.

7. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world?
WHAT: The belief that although I am doing very well in my career, I believe I am not there yet. I always believe I still have lots to learn, lots to see, lots to do. I also feel I am never to far in my career to get my hands dirty... I am basically humble to my core and that always keeps me grounded. WHO: My dog LuLu. She's the most loyal adorable, stress relieving being on this planet.

8. What are 2 qualities that you prefer in a mate at this point in your life? SUPPORT. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

9. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice and what was it?
My Dad always encouraged me to do everything. He always gave me great advice. The main ones were "There is nothing you can't do" and "Be the first one in and the last one out" when you are working an important job the boss sees you 1st in the morning and last in the evening when they are leaving. Let me tell you it works like a charm...even if you leave 3 minutes after they do!

10. What piece of business advice would you like to share?
First..."Be the first one in and the last one out!" Then I would say my top five pieces of business advice is: 1) Don't be afraid of anyone or anything. Everyone is human, if you a smart, talented and passionate they will listen to you. 2) Take chances without being stupid of course. 3) Everything in life is mind over matter. Basically, you can do anything you set your mind to. 4) Always speak your mind and communicate your needs. Don't be passive in business. 5) And most of all although very cliche....Believe in Your Talents!!!!...If you believe in yourself others will believe in you!

11. Green Tea, Iced Latte or Sparkling Apple Cider? Pant Suit, Mini Skirt or Long Dress?

Tall Skim Iced Caramel Latte (yum.) I guess mini-skirt but in a classy way.

12. What word would best describe you right now? Hungry (figuratively and literally!) hahaha.

A Beautiful Mind welcomes
EVITA G. KAIGLER, ESQ

1. What keeps you feeling beautiful? If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be?

Baby oil on my skin after a hot shower, a sunny day, soulful R&B music, a good hair day and a positive attitude.

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson! I love this song. It's such a great "feel good" song. I like to think that I'm a "feel good" person. I'm certainly a "glass half full" gal. I like to bring good energy to all those who interact with me. I have my bad days here and there but the good ones always make the most impact. At times, I may get discouraged but then I remember those things promised to me by God and that's when I continue to grab the bull by the horns and keep it moving . . .I just live life off the wall, life ain't so bad at all.

2. Tell us a little about "Music Is My Business".

In addition to running my own entertainment law practice, I am also the Chief Operating Officer and Legal Counsel for Music Is My Business. Music is My Business is a fully integrated music company that fuses music through every element of pop culture. The company consists of three major components: music production, television/film and brand management. We have clients such as Heineken, Complex Magazine, ESPN, among others.

In my law practice, Law Offices of Evita G. Kaigler, I represent producers, songwriters, artists, independent record labels, managers, etc regarding their contractual and business needs.

3. When did you know that being a attorney was in your future? With your successful experiences allowing you to connect with people around the globe, what are some of your day to day activities?

I was 17 when I decided that I would be an entertainment attorney. I have always been IN LOVE with music. I wanted a position within the music industry where I could feel in control of my career. So, I began to read books about the music industry and I read All You Need To Know About The Music Business by Donald Passman. This book changed my entire perspective on how I would be involved in the music industry. Donald Passman is an entertainment attorney and at the time I read the book, I didn't even know that entertainment attorneys existed. This book contained a wealth of knowledge that was so powerful to me that being an entertainment attorney just seemed like the perfect fit for me. Being an entertainment attorney allows for me to be in a necessary position within the music industry; allows for me to play a role in making music happen; and allows for me to be surrounded by music everyday all day long.

My day to day activities include waking up anywhere between 8:30 and 9:30 and taking about an hour to get dressed. I am NOT a morning person! Sometimes I will work from home depending on what my schedule looks like for the day. Because I have a law practice and I work for a music company, I spend a lot of time in my car going from meeting to meeting. Usually, I start my work day out by responding to numerous emails via blackberry, laptop or MySpace and returning phone calls. Then I'll get into paperwork of all kinds and conference calls. Maybe 1-2 nights out of the week, I'll have an event to attend BUT depending on how I'm feeling and what needs to be done, I may pass on the event and veg out on my sofa. I work crazy hours. No day is really the same for me.

4. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?

I LOVE good food! So, I really like to eat out. I'm a meat and potatoes kind of girl! I'm the person that orders the wine, salad, appetizer, entre, desert and a cup of coffee. I really like a GREAT dining experience. I would like to travel overseas to a place like Italy and eat good food for the whole trip.

5. One Thing on my Life List is that I'd like to win a Grammy for my contribution to the music industry. I'd like to think that one day (maybe within the next 10 years) I will have influentially placed my stamp on so many aspects of the music industry that I will be blessed to receive a Grammy for one of those "special categories" or even a category made up just for me!

6. What keeps you grounded in an ever changing world?

The vision that has been given to me by God keeps me grounded. I know that if I stray off of the path that God has laid out for me, my vision will not come to fruition. I'm not perfect but I've always had a GREAT sense of self-worth, self respect, purpose and being moved by God.

7. What are 3 qualities that you prefer in a mate at this point in your life?

I prefer a man who (1) is honest at all times about everything (2) is trustworthy and (3) operates by faith in God

8. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice and what was it?

I don't know when it began in my life but my parents always told me that I was very smart and that I could do and be anything that I wanted. Growing up, I never felt like a "pretty" kid. However, I always knew that I was smart. I felt good and confident about being smart. I felt good and confident that I was someone with a purpose in life, thanks to mom and dad.

9. What piece of business advice would you like to share?

Making a decision about anything is the first and most difficult step. I have found that once I make a decision about something, I do it. A decision is not a want or a desire, it's a mental action that moves you forward. When you decide, you stand tall and firm. You won't make the right decisions all the time. However, when you decide, you grow and move forward in some fashion. Decide to be an entrepreneur, decide to increase your revenue, decide to set goals, decide to network, decide to educate yourself, decide to do things the "other way" . . . and the list goes on. You have to make the decision first and run like hell with it!

10. Green Tea or Iced Latte? Chocolates, Flowers or Love Letters?
Green Tea! I like to add milk and sugar to my green tea . . .it's a peaceful beverage. Love letters! I'm just a sap.

11. What word would best describe you right now? Dangerous!

**********************************************************

A Beautiful Mind welcomes
ROSETTA "RO DIGGA" DEVINE

1. What keeps you feeling beautiful? If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be?

I feel beautiful when I feel that I've touched the next person in a positive way. I'm the gregarious type who loves to make people happy. It gives me a glow. Oftentimes, I give completely of myself, even forgetting myself, so the songs that come to mind that best describe my vibe are both from my girl, Mary J. Blige--"My Life" and "Just Fine".

2. What lead you to radio?
I was on track to take over the newscasting realm from Connie Chung and Barbara Walters, back in the day (okay, maybe just in my mind), when a friend of a friend connected me to a radio personality (shout out to Richmond's Freddy Foxx) who put in a word for me with his Program Director. That PD gave me my break in the business even though all I wanted at the time was an opportunity to intern and learn at his radio station. I accepted the job offer and dived into the gig, foregoing any further interest in TV news...basically, because I could get by as a broke college student not needing to invest loads of money into hair, make up, and suits. I relished in being able to roll out of bed, not worrying about being too fly...nobody could see me on the radio. Instead, I welcomed the challenge of creating a "theatre of the mind".

3. With your successful experiences allowing you to reach people's heart, what are some of your day to day activities?

At the moment, I am "on the beach"...out of the the business, chilling, and spending more time with friends and family. Radio had become so much a part of my life, though, that I still connect with fans. I plan to continue developing a children's interest organization, first introduced to the community through my radio show, as a non-profit group that promotes free family fun days. The Baby DeVine Kids' Club expose urban families, especially single-mother lead households to art, health, and wealth. I so badly want for all children to feel loved, protected, uplifted and appreciated; and I want the mothers to feel that a grass roots organization, minus the red tape, supports them and rewards them in their efforts to provide such. Until there is a re-launch, I will be a primary example of a doting and devoted mother to my own daughter, Baby DeVine, the biggest celebrity in my family.

4. What are you most proud of that you've done?

Being a champion of women's and children's causes: I had a very popular feature called the "Hersday Thursday" celebration on my radio show, wherein I spoke to every hardworking woman in the city. This weekly holiday gave me the platform on which to speak about finances, health matters and baby-daddy drama as it related to all women. I rewarded working women, stay-at-home mothers, college students, whomever needed a temporary relief with prize packages that included female-specific goodies (shopping spree, spa gift certificate, tickets to a male revue, etc.) The calls and emails from appreciative listeners who truly believed in my weekly mantra, "Walk with your spine straight and your chin held up high, because it is all about you", was pleasantly overwhelming. I felt like I was freely giving out positive vibes that otherwise would cost major money if coming from Oprah, Dr. Phil, or Tony Robbins. The one most touching moment in my radio career, though, happened about 10 years ago: a young lady (13, 14, or 15 at the time) called me on the request lines during a school day when I was on Magic 99.3 FM. She explained that she was sneaking the call to dedicate a song to her newly divorced mother who was sulking at home in depression. I played Simply Red's "Holding back the years" and tried earnestly to pass on the daughter's expression of strength and support for her mother. Minutes later, the mother called the request lines, crying and thanking me profusely for being the conduit of communication between child and mother. It made me melt. From then on, I wanted to touch others in that same way.

5. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?

Fun to me is shopping with my girlfriends and my daughter or having Sunday brunch with them. New fun stuff? My adventurous side wants to try parasailing; my artistic side wants to try interior designing; and my "live life with reckless abandon" side wants to go backpacking across Europe...all of that sounds fun!

6. One thing on my Life List is to leave a legacy of having helped better the next person (I know, I know--it sounds too ethereal). Either through a non-profit, a scholarship fund, or a foundation, I want to translate my people skills into a way to enrich others' lives.

7. What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world?

My 6-year old daughter, Morgan aka "Baby DeVine". A higher being blessed me with the charge of dutifully and lovingly guiding this beautiful little person through life. I take it seriously, and my devotion to her determines my every move.

8. What are 3 qualities that you prefer in a mate at this point in your life?

My husband, George, has them: loyalty, honesty, and compassion (I had to work with him on the last one...most guys think kindness is weakness, but it doesn't have to be).

9. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice and what was it?

"Get to know and love yourself first before any other"--Charles Smith, a friend from my college days at Virginia Commonwealth University. An upstanding brother of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., he gave me this advice while witnessing the emotionally ravaging effects of a bad relationship to which I had once subjected myself. Radio-wise, the coolest white guy in urban radio, Jay Carneal, once told me to "Recognize when it's time to move on". He recounted his own experience of switching from on-air to production once he realized that he was aging out of the demo (18-34). It was simple but profound.

10. What piece of business advice would you like to share?

Have something to fall back on. If you go to school, get a degree outside of media. If you think you can retire off of radio, think again. Better have another career interest in mind. I'm just keeping it real.

11. Champagne, Iced Latte or Sparkling Apple Cider? Butter Pecan, Chocolate or Strawberry?

Plum wine or Moscato d'asti all the way for me! A scoop of butter pecan AND a scoop of strawberry, thank you.

12. What word would best describe you right now? Relieved.

**MISS TY'S TALKING**

About starting to save for your child's education..
1. When the child in your life is born OneShare.com and buy stock instead of the newest Jordan's that are out. You can buy up to 10 shares, so when the checks come you can put them in the bank.
2. Sign up at UPromise.com so every time you use a Discount Card (ie Pathmark, Walgreens, etc) some of that shopping money goes into a college fund. 3.Talk to your child with your spouse (mate) about how you are planning for the child's future and maybe you all can put together a plan on paper.

About networking within several industries....
1. IF YOU STAY READY ......... YOU NEVER HAVE TO GET READY.
You can meet a new key person in journey, by chance. Keep cards or cell phone handy. Always give good energy and watch how quick you receive it. 2. I have a tendency to network where ever I go on both coasts. I leave myself open to let the higher power do, what HE does.

For example, a Chef can network with a Professional Athlete by pitching cooking show segments with a simple signature dish, offer to cater a special event or just talking to the athlete about nutrition for great performance on the field. Everything YOU do can lead to other opportunities. As for the Chef maybe Coaches, Announcers and other Athletes will be apart of his finiancial future.

But don't mind me... I'm just talking:) Happy New Year everyone. I'm glad to be on board!

Moving in the Possibilities...Tuesday January 1, 2007

THE ACAI BERRY BOOST

Your energy, perspective and abilities are priceless! Move as if you can not be deterred from the bigger picture. Consciously execute what needs to be done to center yourself and let chaotic energy/ people/ circumstances ---go. Let them go, to where they are trying to get to. Which is obviously someplace other than your soul because they are not exchanging a positive respect that the Happier YOU needs to work effectively. It's not healthy to overextend yourself to the exhausted signs of failure. All things are possible. Relentlessly reproduce strengths within yourself (and listen to a higher power's love for you) to go towards your bright possibilities.

**********************************************************************************
Acai Smoothie:
Add 2 cups of milk to 1 1/2 cup of Acai pulp and banana yogurt (as needed). Pour mixture in a blender with 1/4 cups water and refrigerate until ready to serve.

ScrubbaLuvva #1:
Before I took a warm bath, I mashed a handful of Acai in a bowl. Added 3 tspn of white sugar and 1 tspn of almond oil. Stirred slowly and applied all over vigorously for 3 minutes (mainly lower leg & upper arm). Ran the shower for steam and rinsed off loving the feeling of renewed circulation.

"Skin Me" Fruit Salad 08: We drank 1 cup of water before indulging in this delight.

Vanilla+Bergamot Body Butter by Bliss

I'm excited to report that the soothing effects on the body are even greater than the scent. A little dot- does a lot. Rinse off the stress, rub in the wonders and feel the bliss. I did:) Please use your own personal discretion /caution if you are allergic, sensitive or unsure.

A Beautiful Mind welcomes
OSAYAMEN ASEMOTA (NY)

JESSICA IACCARINO (NY)

EVITA G. KAIGLER, ESQ (GA.)

ROSETTA "RO DIGGA" DEVINE (VA.)

As for the Chef maybe Coaches, Announcers and other Athletes will be apart of his/her finiancial future.

But don't mind me... I'm just talking:) Happy New Year everyone. I'm glad to be on board!
